- In olden times the people had no doctors so they had to make cures out of plants and leaves.
For smothering they used "Candocossing" which they got growing in the Summer.
They had "Baughrom" or "Bog Bearn" as a cure for animals. It was taken in and boiled. When it was boiled it was put into bottles and then it was ready for use.
The Dandelion was pulled and taken in and boiled. Then the root was dried and eaten. It was a cure for different diseases.
