    When the rocks look bright after a shower denotes thunder.
    Wind. Ducks quacking loudly denote wind.
    A copper coloured sky means a gale of wind.
    Before (S) wind comes, the cat begins to scrape, the geese fly and the clouds begin to float along like ships.
    When geese make a great noise with their wings a storm or gale is approaching.

  2. There is a shortcut leading from Faugher to Parkmore and it is a public one. About forty years ago there was only a path going to Parkmore. People with horse and carts had to cross the Marblehill strand. Patrick Gallagher, Faugher, Ballymore. Story told by Ellen Gallagher, Faugher.
    In Glassan there is a nearway through a hill called "the Binn". In Carnamaddy there is a road which was lately made, this road leads to Lough na Ball. In Rooskey there is a road which leads up to the bog and it is called Meenadrain.
