  1. One night some men were playing cards. They were talking about one thing, and another, and during some Conversation, one of the men asked if anyone of them would go up to the Abbey of Roserk and take one of the four skulls which were there and bring it back to the house. A bet of one pound was made that not one of them would go.
    One man said he would go and and he went out. The other four men followed him and they managed to reach the Abbey before him.
    They stood one man at each skull. The man came on up to the Abbey and lifted one of the skulls and a voice said said. "Leave that there. That is mine. He lifted the second skull and a voice said again. "Leave that there
