  1. Under the shore facing Rathfran Abbey there is a huge rock with an opening in it. In this rock it is said that people hid money during the time of the Black and Tans because at that time the Black and Tans used to come into peoples' houses and search them and if they found any money they took it with them. No one ever tried to get the treasure because it is said if any person went to interfere with the rock that it would open and swallow them.
