  1. The principal wild birds found in our district are the robin, wren, swallow, corncrake, cuckoo, hedgehod, blackbird, thrush, linnet, wagtail, goldfinch, yellow hammer, magpie, crow, hawk, jackdaw, jay, sally piker, and seagull
    The birds that migrate are the cuckoo, corncrake, and swallow
    If the swallows fly low it is a sign of bad weather, and if high good weather. If the seagulls fly inland bad weather may be expected. If the crows are perched on the ditches it is a sign of rainy weather.
