    Among the wild birds of my district are crows, swallows, thrushes, robins and wagtails.

    Among the wild birds of my district are crows, swallows, thrushes, robins and wagtails. The birds which migrate are swallows, all the others do not. The crows built their nests in the top of tall trees. Swallows have a habit of building their nests in the eaves of houses and high up in the rooves of hay barns. The swallow's nest is nearly always made of mud and twigs. The eggs of the wagtails are a light blue colour. The wagtail builds its nest in a hedge. The robin, unlike other birds nest in a convenient place such as flower pots, holes in walls and suchlike. The fine for breaking a nest of eggs is two pounds.
    When swallows fly low it is a sign of rain when they fly high it means fine weather. To hatch eggs the female bird usually sits on them for about three weeks. The best songsters are the lark, and the thrush. The birds that do not sing are seagulls, rooks, crows and jackdaws. Rooks crows and jackdaws. When the robin has a red breast.
