    inscribed as follows:-
Sacred to the memory of Robert
    Byrne Esq. of Cabinteely who
was born in Dublin on the 20 day
of May 1748 and died at Buonos
Avies in Lisbon on Monday the 4th
of January 1799 after a long
and tedious illness which he bore
    with Christian fortitude.
The cemetery also contains many stones and images in the form of crosses, and disfigured carvings. Many soldiers are also laid to rest there. One of those is from the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and another who served in the Papal army at Angona from 1860 to 1870.
This cemetery is very seldom used as a burial ground at present, as a new cemetery has been opened in its stead. Nevertheless Patrick
