  1. I went to the Wood for a 'bresne'. I didn't bring crooked sticks nor straight sticks and still I brought my 'bresne'?
'Bresne' was the name of my dog.
I went into the Wood to get something. I looked and couldn't find it and yet I brought it home with me?
    A thorn in my foot.
I went up the boreen. I came down the boreen and I carried the boreen on my back.
    A ladder
A little red heifer lying by the wall, the more you give her the redder she gets?
    A fire.
Why does a hen cross a road?
To get over to the other side.
Why does a hen pick a pot?
    Because she couldn't lick it.
