    when any people die. They were kept in their homes two nights before they were brought to the Church. Each night a large crowd gathered into the corpsehouse. The old women went into the corpsehouse earlier than the younger people.
    At that time the old women would start crying shortly after they entered the corpse house. There were usually two or three old women to conduct the crying.
    When the young girls came to the corpsehouse they helped in crying with the old women.
    At the "wakes" the people got chalk pipes and tobacco.
