    to America and a great number of them went on the coffin ships during the famine 0f 47. In 1851 the people incurred the displeasure of the landlord with the result they were all evicted and their homes levelled to the ground by the crowbar brigade. The whole district was taken over by a wealthy Scothman named Housten. He stocked the land with blackheads and Kyloes as described in the well know song "Rory of the hill".
    "The black heads and the Kyloes,
    Their homes and valleys fill,
    But we will rout them yet
    From Thallabawn.
    Said Rory of the hill;"
