- (continued from previous page)This man would be called the "Cailleach" He would dance. When the "folpars" used to be coming to the house they used to bring forks, scythe blades, and grapes with them. They used to demand drinks and food.
If they would not get what they asked they would hit someone and hurt him.
But if the people of the house would come out with food for them to eat and portar for them to drink the straw-boys would go home quietly. Sometimes the people would not give them any food to eat and they used not give them any drink. The "folpars" used to be hammering the door with hay-forks trying to get into the house. They would hit the man of the house if they could catch him. They used to tell the player's to come out and play for them. But when player's used to come out the "folpars" used to put them in again. When they would get the player's going into the house they would follow them. The girls that used to be at the dance had to dance with the "folpars" and they used to be afraid of them.- Informant
