    the spell. The head was "meausured" with a broad black tape. The first measurement was round the back of the head, just over the ears and round the forehead. The next was round under the chin, in front of the ears and over the top of the head. From those measurements she declared, "There's a split (sgoilt) in your head two, three or four inches as the case might be."
    What the words of the prayer or spell were no one now remembers.
    There were certain days only on which the spell could be worked and it had to be performed on three of those successively.
    Some think the days were Monday Wednesday Friday, others Tuesday and Thursday.
