- The bride lived on in the home of her parents for about a fortnight after the marriage. Then came the day of the "dragging home". The groom with his friends came to take his bride to new home. They arrived after night fall and after receiving hospitality all, groom and bride and the friends and relations of both set out. Sometimes they walked in processional order in two or fours the bride and groom leading; more usually they made journey on side cars.
Here now was held a second wedding. There were the same [?] and drinking, the same dancing singing. The fun and sport went on right through the night till the daylight was streaming in through the windows. Then the guests took their departure.
