  2. Once there was a school in Culnacleha and it was a barn that the people of the village fixed. The children that were going to school had to bring a penny a week to pay the teacher. The children used to sit on a few stones and write on slates. The teacher used to sit on a small stool. They had no books and the teachers name was Tom Cooney. He was a man from the village.
