  1. National schools were started and opened in Ireland by the English Government. Before that time the people were educated in private schools. In those days travelling schoolmasters taught in any house they might be stopping at and often times in old barns.
    Sometimes they had a kind of school. One was situated up near Tulrahan Graveyard and was taught by a man named Morley.
    He is said to have taught priests. School
