    Before the construction of railroads the fairs were few and far between and were only held in certain places. In country place heifer calves were the only calves raised.
    Bull calves were killed as soon as possible after being calved or sold for very little about two and six or less. The railroad changed all this and England unable to produce enough beef for her own needs was able to get her supple from even the most distant places in
