  1. Tulrahan is my native village. It derived its name from a stream that flows through it.
    Years ago there was a castle about one hundred yards from where Carrowneden school now stands. (now St. James' School, Tulrahan)
    Next it was turned into a school where the old people received their education. Before that they got their education in a barn in Tulrahan crossroads.
    The second of February was a great day in Tulrahan. There was a pattern held on that date every year in honor of St. Brigid.
