    Three days which March borrowed from April to skin the old cow.
    People do not plough on the first Monday in January. Being the odd day of the year is considered unlucky.
    Good Friday:
    No Catholic will drive a nail on this day, or no man will plough on this day; while it is considered lucky to harrow or set seeds on that day. Any Friday is supposed to be lucky to take up residence in a new house, but especially lucky is Good Friday.
    The 13th of any month is considered unlucky. Farmers like to begin new work on Monday.
    It is not customary to take ashes from the hearth on November day.
    It is thought to be very unlucky to get married in Autumn.
    "If Candlemas day is bright and clear, we'll have two Winters in one year."
