   262 married the man took out two race-horses. He gave the best race horse to his wife. The other he left for himself. They went to the race-course and put the horses to the jumps. The horse that the young man had would not jump. So he pulled his gun out of his pocket and shot him. Next day he took his dog out and the dog would not work so he shot him also. "Why do you do that?" said his wife. "I do that to every thing that does not obey me"
