- People have certain sayings about the weather. They can foretell the weather by signs in the sun, moon, stars, clouds and rainbows. There are also signs to be seen in the animals and birds, by the lakes and by the rivers.
The wind which brings most rain to our district comes from Louth. The North wind brings us great snow and frost.
In bad weather the dogs eat grass, and the cat turns his back on the fire.
