    a bowl and is steeped in water. Then after a time the blue water is sopped into the cow-pock with a rag. One or two rounds of it would do as it is very severe.
    If a person had a sore neck or throat coarse salt cures it.
    About a pound of coarse salt is put in a stocking and tied around the person's neck when the person is going to bed. Roasted potatoes are also good to cure a sore throat.
    Boils are very often seen on people's necks. The best remedy for boils is to wet a small bit of linseed and put it in a cloth and tie it around the person's neck. The hotter the linseed is the better. White bread is also good to cure boils. It draws the stuff that makes the boil off the person's neck.
