    Its a good while now since I tould ye any o' Tommie's yarns. Well I jusht thought o' a wan thish now, an' I ushed ta think it damn good, when I ushed ta hear Tommie spinnin' it long 'go.
    We was up cuttin turf at Lough-a-vale, thats on top o' the Cloghogue mountain, wan springs day, mesel an' Tommie, (him cuttin' an' me spreadin) an' when we sat down to take the dinner, we war in the shelther o' a big white thorn hedge, an' every bush that war in it,was is sthraight is a whippin' pole, an' there was scarcely a knot or a crooked brach in any o' them
