- There are two stories told which are supposed to have happened in the district of Rockcorry about the years 1758 and 1898.
1758. Once a fairy visited a lady who was alone in the house. She came to borrow a noggin of meal. The lady gave it to her.
The fairy told her she would come back to pay her on a certain day. She came back on the day she said and gave the lady more meal than what she had got.
"Now my good woman" said the fairy. You are in the habit of visiting your own people very often, but if you take my advice you should stay at home and mid your own place and your husband will think more of you. Always keep the hearth clean and a stool on it, and if you do this you will never want for anything as long as you live. The lady did so and the fairy's words came true.
The second story of 1898 is as follows.
Once in the village of Rockcorry there was a gentleman named Dr. Moore. He lived where Mr. Rountree is living now. As well as a Dr. he was also a large farmer.
One fine day he had a lot of men(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
