    One night after they had transacted their business a row started. Three Constabulary from Shantonagh Barracks were present and one of them had an eye knocked out by a stone flung from one of the crowd. Wholesale arrests were subsequently made & many served long terms of imprisonment in Monaghan gaol. But the stone thrower escaped.

    The Murnaghans of Drumgor were noted tailors.

    The Murnaghans of Drumgor were noted tailors. They used to go round to the houses to make the clothes. In addition to the two brothers Hugh & Francis, they employed two or three journeymen.
    Hugh made clothes in the customer's houses up to his death in May 1895.
    Francis went to live in the townland of Liserraw?? near Monaghan and died there in November 1911.
    He was one of those convicted
