  1. Basket making and churn is still carried on. Nails were made and also candles out of rushes and melted fat.
    Starch was made in a shed belonging to Harry Elliot.
    Mr. Morgan Lisgrey and his three sons make baskets out of "Sally rods", he is called "the rodman Morgan."
    Nails were made by a man called Reynolds, he made them out of very thin iron.
    Churns are made in this district, the names of the men who make them are Mr. P. Smyth and Mr. J. Reilly. They are called "Coopers."
    Mr. McFadden of Castleraghan was a great thatcher.
    Mr. Tully of Munterconnaught lives on fishing in the local lakes.
