  1. There was an old poet long ago and his name was James Flannigan and he was known to the local people as "Poet Flannigan".
    He lived in this district in the townland of Tournar[oe?] and he died at the age of 72 years in the year 1826.
    He was buried in Mullahoran graveyard. I am told his grandfather was also a poet.
    James Flannigan made poems mostly about dances and fairs and the times. He made these songs when he was sitting around the
