  1. In former times the people got cures for their illness by going to Holy Wells, by making poultices or by herbs.
    Here are some of the cures which are still performed during sickness.
    (1) The cure of the "running worm" is performed by the seventh son or daughter, by a child born on Good Friday & baptised on a Easter Sunday if a worm is let die on the childs hand.
    (2) For whopping cough is to put asses blinkers on person and walk them around the pig sty seven times.
