    about the things that have happened. Mr. Byrne repairs wheels for carts. He repairs ranges, forks, rakes and other machinery. Mr. Hall has his forge in the townland of Merry meeting. Mr. Hall got his trade from his grandfather in olden times. Mr Byrne earns a lot of money on Saturdays when people come to get their horses shod. Mr. Byrne gets the most people on Saturday thats the best day for the blacksmiths because a lot of people come to them.

  2. The people around this district make potatoe cakes. The way they are made, is to get potatoes and fry them. Then mash them up in a basin and then get flour, eggs, new-milk, soda, butter or margarine, pepper.
    Another cake people make is the oatmeal cake. The way they are made is oatmeal and flour mixed with it and butter-milk soda salt. Then they mix them together and then they flatten it out and make it
