- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)up the road. When the man of the house turned to go home, the other man heard a step beside him.
He looked around but could not see anybody. The man was very much frightened. He had to pass a stream but he thought it would disappear. When he had passed the stream he step was still beside him. So he made up his mind he would go into the next house on the way.
As he walked in the street the step ceased. When he reached the man of the house asked him where he was going and he said he was coming to stay with him. The man said he wouldn't stay so he had to stay out again. When he reached the road and started again the ghost was still with him.
As he was coming along a lonesome byeroad he heard an awful crash beside him. At that moment the ghost disappeared and from that time to this that man never went anywhere after nightfall.
