  1. On Ballycowan Castle
    Ballycowan Castle was built by Sir Jasper Herbert and his wife Lady Jane Forbes in 1626. It is situated on the banks of the Grand Canal. There is a tunnel running from Ballycowan Castle to Ballykilmurry Castle. There are walls in the castle about six feet thick. There are six chimneys on the castle There is a shield over the door and there is an inscription on it. "By God of might." I hold my right."
