Some people sow one acre and others sow two acres. Some people have better crops some years than others.
My father prepares the ground. Sometimes the field is top-dressed. Some people sow the potatoes in ridges and more of them are sown in drills.
The field is ploughed, harrowed and rolled. Then the drills are made with a double plough.
Wooden ploughs were used long ago,
The people pick the seed potatoes cut the big ones and sow them.
The people help each other in sowing the potatoes.
The people weed scuffle mould and stone the potatoes in the summer.
Some people plough the potatoes out and others take them out with a potato-digger and others take them out with spades. The grown up people pick the potatoes.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
