    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Potatoes are grown at home. We sow one acre under potatoes each year. Some years the potatoes are larger than others.
    My father prepares the land for the potatoes. The ground is not manured before turned up. The manure is put the drills. The potatoes are sown in drills in the fields + in ridge in the gardens. Ploughs are used in the field + spades in the gardens. No one in the townland ever remembers woden plough being used. The spades are bought in shops.
    The neighbours help sowing the potatoes by lending their horses for a day.
    The children pick the potatoes
    The potatoes are stored in pits when picked.
    The names of the potatoes are :-
    Kerr Pinks, Shamrocks, British Queens, Epicures, Irish Queens
