- There is a kiln in a field at the back of Daniel Egan's shop which I heard called "the kill o' Shanmore." It got that name because it was owned by a man who was called "Shaun Mór."
His right name was John Doyle, he was probably a big man, and that name was put on him.Miss Deane has a field called the "Sports Field", so called because sports were held there each year up to a few years ago.James White of Ballyclemock have nine or ten fields called the "old town". There was a lot of houses there, and the ruins are still there.
