   Tis her fair distracting charms first disturbed my humble peace.

   When I first beheld this angel bright she struck me with delight
   Her bright angelic features sorely increased my sighs
   Her face was like the roses that bloom both red and white
   She is the fairest of all females she was my heart's delight

   For to send forth her praises my eloquence is weak,
   For Cupid's dart has pierced my heart which causes me to speak
   You all heard tell of Venus, young Mars did her adore
   I think her far inferior to "The Flower of Curraghmore."

   Dont reflect on me with scorn when you'll hear of my sad pain,
   Or think 'tis youth and folly that makes young men complain,
   If she knew my disorder I'm sure she'd set me free
   Take pity lovely Katie prove kind and marry me.

   But what signify my industries my labours are all in vain,
   For she has placed her fancy on someother youthful swain
   Since I cant gain the favour of the girl that I adore,
