    August is the lucky month to get married and October is the unlucky month to get married. In years gone by the bridegroom used to go to the bride's house on the morning of the wedding, and she would go in the same car as the bridegroom.
    Nowadays the bride and bridegroom go in different cars and they meet together at the chapel gate.
    Long ago they had no motor cars to drive to the chapel in and they drove in carriages, and side cards, and waggonetts.
    No matches are made around here nowadays but long ago they used to be made and the boy and the girl never knew one another before, until the day they were getting married.
    The straw-boys were called (?) and sometimes they visit the house where people
