    Weather Lore
    Sun.
    It is generally believed in this district that when there are streaks of light from the sun in the evening it indicates rain.
    Moon.
    When there is a new moon, if it is sharp, it will be bad weather.
    Stars
    If the stars are very bright it will be frosty.
    Clouds.
    There are always clouds in the sky but if they are very black it is a sign of rain.
    Rainbow.
    When there is a shower of rain, if the rainbow does not appear after it there will be more rain.
    Wind.
    If the wind is coming from the south it will rain but if it is coming from the north it will snow.
    Mist.
    There is a hill in our district called Corn or Cairn Hill and there is a heap of stones on top of it, if the
