    across at each end. The people used to carry their butter and eggs to the market in these baskets.
    He used to make turf - creels for carrying turf out of the bogs, also potato - creels for picking potatoes and dumping them into the pits.
    Lately he used to make the hurdles. The way he made them was by putting long sticks or beams from one side of a barn to the other, also standards across the beams and then he used to weave the sallows through both beam and standard. The people used them for holding potatoes for the Spring. They also used them for drying flax.
