    The Landlord
    10th May, 1938.
    The name of the landlord for my district was Mr Gregg. The family lived at Ardagh. They had been settled in the district for a generation.
    Mr. Gregg was a good kind landlord. He used to give the people a whole year before noticing them for the rent, and even at the end of that time he did not supress them for it. He never evicted anybody in this district.
    In olden times when the people were poor, and not able to eke out a livlehood at home, they emigrated to America; then the men that had money took over these lands, and this is how the landlords got possession of the land. The land was divided into farms at this time.
