- Owen MacGuire of Sonnagh used to make boots. He used to go about from house to house making boots. He is not alive now.
Thomas Fleming used to make rush candles. He used to live in a little house built with sods in a bog. he used to peel all the rushes to one little strip of green covering. He used to dip them in some sort of grease, and tie them in little bundles, each containing about a dozen rushes. He used to give those candles round to his neighbours.
