- St. Colmcille is traditionally connected with my district. He built a church and a monastery on Inch Island. The ruins of the church and monastery are still to be seen on the island.
There are a lot of wells blessed by St. Colmcille, and there are a lot of cures got from these wells ever since.
A lot of people are called Colm after St. Colmcille.
St. Colmcille was buried in Downpatrick. St. Patrick was another great saint. His feast is held on the 17th. of March, and people go to wells that were blessed by St. Patrick. St. Patrick brought the true faith to Ireland in the year 432.- Bailitheoir
