    St. Colmcille is traditionally connected with my district. There is a church built under his patronage. He worked no great miracles there, but he was a great prophet.
    He is buried in Downpatrick with St. Brigid and St. Patrick.
    A great many people are called Colm after St. Colmcille.
    He foretold that there would be a settlement between Ireland and England when Palm Sunday and St. Patrick's Day would fall on the same day, which will happen in 1940. He also prophesied that no one in the parish of Colmcille would be killed by lightning. He foretold that coaches would go the roads which would not be drawn by animals. This has been taken to refer to motor-cars.
