    unloaded, though the bearer of the gun was unaware of it. He fired the gun on entering the police hut, but nobody was hurt. The raiders escaped. Bryan Seery an innocent man, on whom the police had their eye, was arrested and charged with the offence in Mullingar before a packed jury. The jurymen were specially chosen, and prior to the trial, they were assembled, and to each man was put the question:-
    "Will you hang Bryan Seery?"
    On answering "Yes" they were chosen.
    Bryan Seery was hanged in Mullingar Jail.
