  1. None of the old trades are now carried on here. Up to about thirty years ago, the local smith made his own nails. A nailer used to go from forge to forge making nails of all kind for people. The smith also made shades. Such a shade was called a "Lawey". He still makes gates, fire cranes etc.
    Rush lights were used everywhere hear. Many "Grissets" are still preserved in houses.
    Candle-making.
    Soap was made here by mixing
