    Heavy snowfalls
    A few years ago there was a heavy snowfall in this country. In some places the snow drifts reached a height of nine feet. All traffic was held up. Neither trains nor buses could travel.
    The snow remained on the ground for one week.
    People were unable to leave their houses and many who had not laid in a sufficient supply of groceries suffered very much for want of food.
    Others were unable to get any water and so could not make tea, or any other drinks for themselves.
    A considerable amount of damage was done many lambs were lost in the snow.
