- When you get as sting of a nettle rub a dock leaf to it and say ''Nettle burn me so dockin, docken cure me''. When you get a sting of a bee or a wasp, put a ball of blue on it and it will cure it.
If you have a wart put washing soda or a fasting spit on it and make the sign of the cross. In olden times robin-run-the hedge was the cure for chicken pock.
A stye on the eye can be cured by pointing nine goose berry thorns at it and making the sign of the cross and pointing the tenth at it and throwing it away without saying anything.
Ringworm is cured by a cabbage leaf but the veins have to be taken out of it. The whooping cough is cured by the god father tying a red ribbon round the childs neck and putting nine knots on the ribbon. The nine knots will take away coughs from the child.
The cure for toothache is to put garlic on your wrist and it will cure the pain.
