   Long ago there lived a landlord in Athboy named Sean Ruagh Dyas. He was also landlord of Staholmog and he was very bad to the poor people, he would not let them cut any timber or even let them cross his land.
   There were twelve or thirteen families living on the land and he put them all out on the road and levelled their houses to the ground. In one of those houses there was a poor innocent man living with his mother who cursed him for putting him out and before that day week Dyas died and he was brought in a four-horse hearse and was buried in Staholmog and over his grave there was a flat tombstone put. Thomas Reilly another man who the people call the ‘Gripper’ had been put out of his house four times by Dyas. When Dyas was dead the Gripper brought in another man into the
