  1. We have a churn at home.
It is two feet two inches wide.
It is one foot eight inches top and bottom.
The sides of the churn are round.
It is about twenty years old.
The various parts of the churn are, the legs, the lid, and the barrel and the handle.
The marks on the churn are the number and the place of letting out the air.
We churn twice a week in Winter and Summer.
It is my mother who does the churning and when it is a big one the men help to do it.
If strangers come in when the churning is going on they take a hand at it.
The reason they help is because it was an old custom long ago.
The churning takes from fifteen minutes to half an hour.
It is done by hand, the dash churn is worked upwards and downwards and when it is finished they give it a shake from side to side to gather the butter.
The glass on the top of the barrel churn get clean it is finished.
