  1. We have the remains of an old butter churn at home it is about fifty years old. It is about the height of an ordinary barrel but made of wood. The sides of it are round. There are three dashes inside and two handles. Butter was made twice a week in summer and once a week in winter. Any strangers who come in during the churning should help at the work. It would take about an hour to do the churning. The two handles are twisted around by hand.
