work on Monday as it is considered an unlucky day. Early potatoes are supposed to be shown before the 17th of March and not later than the 20th of April. March was thought to be a very hard month on cattle especially on old cows. There is a story told that there was once an old cow she thought that March would kill her . On the last day of March she said" Good luck to March" but March borrowed eleven days from April and ever since the first eleven days of April are called " Skin the bow".
