In days gone by travelling men or hawkers as they were called, were more plentiful than they are nowadays.It is seldom you would like to see any one of these come to your house, and they are mostly men. Some of them are very poor and travel by foot from house to house. They carry packets of pins and needles in a bag strapped to their shoulders and hardly any people purchase from them. Those travellers obtain their supplies from the sales in the cities.There are other travellers which are not as poor and they mostly travel by car.
